Transcript Phi Kappa Theta—2603 Southmore PHI KAPPA THETA Phi Kappa Theta has achieved high scholastic and social leadership during the 1961-62 school year through the fraternity's participation in Homecoming, intramurals. Songfest and Greek Week. The Phi Kaps won first place in volleyball intramurals, first place in Songfest. second place in the Homecoming float competition, and received the first annual Campus Spirit Award, presented by the Sparks. Founder's Day. Open House, pledge-active football game, Western Party. Saint Patrick's Day party and the annual Sweetheart Ball are among the social activities of the Texas Alpha Mu chapter of Phi Kappa Theta. Phi Kaps have achieved distinction in many different fields. Outstanding members of the fraternity include Eddie Gore, secretary of IFC: Barlow Simmons, president of ODK; Dick Kirtley, member of the varsity football squad: Jim Kadlecek, Greek editor of THE COUGAR and advertising manager of the 1962 HOUSTONIAN, and Frank Lupo. I.F.C. representative to Student Government. Eddie Gore President Sweetheart. MARCIA MARQUER PHI KAPS give Marcia Marquer. sweetheart for 1961'62, a standing ovation as she is presented at the 1962 Sweetheart Ball. Her escort is Bill Byrne.
