Transcript BASEBALL 1962 BASEBALL TEAM. (Back Row) Jimmy Wilson (Student assistant coach), Angelo Indelicato, Bob Boeger, Emile Garidel, Jimmy McGee, George Berger, Coach Lovette Hill. (Middle Row) Dickie Pollock, Billy Pruett, James Shirley, Cliff Jubela, Al Campo, Mike Allen, Ken Collins, Bill McMillan. (Front Row) Virgil Fisher, Eddie Gore, Bob Peters, Pete Stonestreet, Bucky Watkins. Baseball Team Ties School Record Lovette Hill's baseballers closed fast to tie the school record for victories at 16-6. Bob Peters (7-4) and Pete Stonestreet (7-0) each tied the mark for most wins by a pitcher and Peters set a new strikeout record with 85 whiffs. Peters also won the batting crown with a .327 average and Stonestreet had an even better mark (.427) but too few at bats. Both were named to the All-District second team by the NCAA. George Berger led the team in hits (22), total bases (28), triples (2) and home runs I >. Cliff Jubela swatted 4 doubles, Bucky Watkins stole 10 bases and Mike Allen scored 15 runs to lead in those departments. James Shirley had 10 RBPs and a home run while Peters and Bill Pruett tied Berger for the lead in home runs and triples, respectively.
