Transcript Distance aces Pat Clohessy, Barry Almond, Geoffrey Walker and Robert Cozens trot down track for the cameraman. CLOHESSY REPEATS AS NCAA THREE-MILE CHAMP Pat Clohessy and Geoff Walker capped a steady string of distance successes with a trip to the NCAA meet in Eugene, Ore., where Clohessy defended his 3-mile championship with a 13:51-6 victory. He also finished 5th in the mile while Walker competed in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Laurie Elliott won the freshman mile event at the Southwestern Recreation Meet and the open 880 at UH's Senior College Meet, plus anchoring the frosh 2-mile relay team to a Texas Relays win. Other SW Rec. winners were Earl Harlan in the 440 and Boh Cozens in the 880. Barrie Almond won the mile in a quadrangular meet in Abilene and Bob Waterman took the 440-yard hurdles event in the Senior College Meet. Jimmy Cowan, James Parkhurst, Earl Harlan, and Joe Dow (bottom to top) were the swift runners that composed the 440-yd. relay team. 131
