Kappa Delta Chi is a national community service sorority that places an emphasis on the Hispanic community, but KDChi is for anyone. Women of all ages, races and religions enter Kappa Delta Chi's new member program, held every semester. It is through the new member process that these women begin their journey toward sisterhood. Some of the strongest friendships for KDChi members have been, found in the sorority. A few of the sisters even went to Spain this summer. The ladies of Kappa Delta Chi also have another goal, besides creating a sisterhood. The women are a service sorority and they put in a tremendous amount of hours to see that the surrounding community has their assistance. Each member is required to hold a certain amount of community service hours each semester, but the girls don't seem to mind. Some of KDChi's service projects included Texas Adopt a Highway Program, SABE mentoring program, the Christian Community Center, LBJ Hospital volunteers and Star of Hope. Aside from making friends and helping out the community, Kappa Delta Chi likes to have fun. Theta Chapter had the honor of hosting the 9th Annual National Conference. Theta received the Best Chapter Award and the Penny Penguin Award. KDChi has always promoted the values of unity, honesty, integrity and leadership. It is through these values, and through Theta's commitment, that the chapter has been regarded as one of Kappa Delta Chi's most esteem chapters. It's no wonder that these pretty penguins of KDChi are proud to say, "KDChi till I die"! * by Linda Canales SPORTY SISTERS Milly Garzon, Cindy Diaz, Jenni Perez & Gladis Oviedo at a softball tournament.
