Excelling scholastically and being involved in campus, community and social events, Delta Gammas are diverse. Delta Gammas are proud of their rich heritage. The ancient symbol of hope, the anchor, is appropriately Delta Gamma 's symbol. With more than 130 chapters in the United States, Canada and London, Delta Gamma is a traditionally strong sorority. Wherever you go on campus, you are bound to see a Delta Gamma involved, whether it be as appearances on the Dean's List, the Golden Key National Honor Society, the University of Houston Honors program, Intramural sports such as flag football, Greek Week, Derby Days, Gong Show, Bike Race or the most fun and exciting event of all, the campus Anchor Splash. This year Delta Gammas celebrated the victory of placing 1 st at UH's Greek week. Even with all that, Delta Gammas volunteer their time for their philanthrophy Service For Sight, as well as community services such as the Great Houston Duck Race, which is sponsored by the National Delta Gamma Foundation. This year alone Delta Gamma raised thousands of dollars at their annual Anchor Splash for Service for Sight. Anchor Splash swim meet includes relays such as the freestyle, a T-shirt relay, a beachball relay and a candle relay. There is also mens synchronized swimming which proved to be very funny. Ever since its founding in 1873, in Oxford Mississippi, the women of Delta Gamma have been leaders with integrity, loyalty and lifelong friendships. Our chapter specifically enjoys strong bonds of sisterhood, the successes of Rush and participation in many events. Delta Gamma offered opportunities and venues for excellence and achievement, creating an atmosphere of trust and respect. Being a member of Delta Gamma provides motivation to excel scholastically while educating its members in areas such as alcohol abuse, rape, AIDS and personal health. Delta Gamma is proud of its sisterhood and proud to be part of the University of Houston. • hy Jennifer Herrington FLAG FOOTBALL Alycia, Sasha, Megan, Pauline, Dorian and Erin win a game!
