Transcript & <Sr S e/&Rs Hidden Secrets and Unknown Places at UH Revealed •^udents commute V to the University CU of Houston everyday and most of the time they run off to class and hurry back home. They never really get to see what's around campus. Even students who live on campus are unaware of what UH has hidden around campus. Everyone knows where t h e University Center is located, but many do not know about Coogs, a bar located in the UC, where students can go to unwind after a major exam. "I was surprised to find a bar at the UC," University studies freshman Shelia Rittenberry said. For the science buffs, it seems that UH has an observatory hidden in Science and Research I building. Unfortunately, it's not open to the general public. For the student who wants to have a little fun before next class, there's the underground arcade "3 UiUS SU X - p/ii&ed to/ jirui a ka/v al tti& • Shelia Rittenberry and bowling alley in the UC. UH also has an optometry center, which comes in handy since students are always straining their eyes to read text books or their professor's writing. For students with children, there's the UH Child Care Center, which many students are unaware of. The Child Care Center on campus will take care of children of students and faculty for a fee. but there is a waiting list. What about places to eat? Many students eat at the UC or Satellite or bring their own lunch to campus, but there are other places to eat at UH. The Conrad Hilton Hotel on campus has Barron's and Eric's. There's also Horizon's in Moody Towers that has a variety of places to eat. UH is full of unknown places and it's up to the students to explore and find them and experience all that UH has to offer. • by Linda Canales and DeAnn Dunkins %uneltinf ta> uJxool Below UH there runs "nder- ground tunnel system that few people can access Photo by Max Lacayo 22 • STUDEriT LIFE %ke. man in the. t Many students may not know that there is an observatory in the Science and Research building.
