The UC now has a new look and a new variety of foods for students to enjoy. There's also the UC Satellite which Chartwells also had remodeled with places such as Market Carver, Steak Escape and Taco Bell. Aside from having more places to eat, there will soon be even more places to learn. Some of the construction taking place on campus happens to deal with the building of new facilities for students to learn. One of the biggest projects for the year in construction is the building of the new LeRoy and Lucile Melcher Center for Public Broadcasting. The center is a $ 12 million-dollar facility which was designed specifically to hold Channel 8. also known as KUHT-TV. The center will also "3^V o/ to/t sx\j&v uibQ/xAlnq/ O/rv the/ ww^wnd' • Archie Walke The new center will also help students in broadcasting and communication to get more hands on experience in a more suitable environment. The expected completion date for the center is sometime before the fall semester of 2000. Construction is also being done on the Fine Arts building on campus.
