Transcript zeta tau alpha In an effort to obtain a feeling of independence and find a profession, nine women banded together October 15, 1898, to form Zeta Tau Alpha, which today binds more than 31,000 loyal women together with common aims. Members of Zeta Tau Alpha on the University campus have an outstanding record for the past year. From their midst Joni McConnell and Carolyn Ralston were elected cheerleaders; Gail Williams was chosen Sweetheart of Sigma Chi; and Pat Stallings was selected as one of the ten Outstanding Students.
