Transcript General Bruce prepares to add his signature. Take a letter. Mrs. Reilly." THE CHANCELLOR'S MESSAGE TO THE STUDENTS Next year the University of Houston will celebrate its silver anniversary. Each year since 1934 the founding of the University as a four year institution has been important. We have jttsl added a period demonstrating the cumulative effects of nearly a quarter of a century of planning. We can be justly proud of the years which have Been the University come into maturity as a center of learning. But now we must look to the future and plan well so that the years of maturity will continue to reflect the unique qualities which have brought this university to the fore of the nation's academic world. The continued success of the University is not only dependent on the administration and faculty, but on the initiative and calibre of the student body as well. Now, on the threshold of our silver anniversary, I have great confidence in all segments of the University community. General Bruce looks over plans for new buildings. Time out for a telephone call.
