The organization recognized band members with its Richard Metz Marching Excellence Award and band scholarships. Kappa Kappa Psi purchased and maintained marching equipment, sponsored the construction of a band observation tower, purchased new music and co-hosted the music career day with Tau Beta Sigma. Women aid band growth As a counterpart to Kappa Kappa Psi, Tau Beta Sigma honorary sorority supplied additional aid to the band. The local chapters of both groups hosted national conventions in August 1975. Tau Beta Sigma coordinated several parties for band members while initiating new sisters into the sorority.
