Transcript Students flee finals to witness musical spectacular McCartney concert Studying for finals was the last thing on the minds of UHers as they packed like sardines into the new Summit to see ex-Beatle "heartthrob" Paul McCartney. Although McCartney was appearing with his new band Wings, most of the 20,000 Houstonians there had obviously come to see the band's star. McCartney, on his first U.S. tour in ten years, was greeted with a bombardment of instamatic camera flashes and the affectionate shrills of teeny- bopper fans. McCartney, his wife and three-man band, in a two and a half hour concert, belted out "Band on the Run," "My Love," and their newest, "Silly Love Songs," as well as the old favorites "Lady Madonna," and "Blackbird." The tumultuous roar peaked with a stirring "Yesterday." "Some people want to fill the work with silly love songs. What's wronc with that?" 100 McCartney & Wings
