Transcript Visiting personalities expand students' scope of interests To add variety to the upcoming barrage of political speakers, several entertainment-oriented speakers visited the campus early in the spring semester. The appearances of Cuban exile Tony Rivera, Carmen Tovalla, and playwright J. P. Donleavy were all well-received by large UH crowds, but were surpassed by the stunning wit of author Truman Capote's performance. Capote, author of "In Cold Blood," and the best-seller "Breakfast at Tiffany's," spoke about his artistry and writing standards. Capote then personalized the evening with the reading of one of his earliest writings, "A Christmas Memory." The touching account of an early childhood Christmas had a distinct emotional impact on the cheering crowd. 66 Spring Speakers
