Transcript Sigma Nu is an honor fraternity that was founded at the Virginia Military Institute in 1869. The founders of the fraternity believed that hazing was a childish and unnecessary aspect of the fraternity experience. Instead, they believed that Sigma Nu should be built on love, truth and honor. Sigma Nu has since grown to over 230 chapters, with these fundamental cornerstones acting as the foundation upon which each chapter is built. Sigma Nu brothers are highly active in the Interfraternity Council, Frontier Fiesta Association, Students' Association Senate, Frontiersmen, the Honors College and intamural athletics. Sigma Nu academic performance continues to rank in the top five percent among all fraternities, and above the All-Mens average at University of Houston. "The Sigma Nu fraternity is a place where excellence is the rule, not the expectation!' said President Thomas Brandino. With a new chapter house in the near future and stronger ties of brotherhood shared among the members than ever before, it is evident that the spirit of brotherhood will never die.
