Transcript "We are trying to expose our members to the numerous career opportunities that are available in our field, and introduce them to professionals that they can one day use as contacts." President Angel Hawks Lana Khawaja Network Information Systems Technology is a newly founded organization that focuses on the computer industry. "Network 1ST is a student organization facilitating the career and academic development of its members!' said Patrick Wolf, vice president of operations. "This organization was developed to help students better grasp the functions of information systems," said Angel Hawks, Network 1ST president. "We are trying to expose our members to the numerous career opportunities that are available in our field, and introduce them to professionals that they can one day use as contacts!' And exposure is what they're getting — the members of the organization met with professionals throughout the year from places such as Compaq and Microsoft, who offered technical advice and assisted in career placement of the students after graduation. The organization contains an executive board with committees underneath it. The executive board consists of the VP of Operations, VP of Academics, VP of Industry, VP of Membership, Treasurer, Secretary, the immediate past president, student advisors appointed by the faculty advisor and the faculty advisor. The committees include academics, industry and membership. But like our very own government, special committees can be established by the president and shall terminate at the end of the annual election meeting. "Meetings are held on the third week of every month on campus, and membership is open to the students and faculty of the College of Technology!' Wolf said.
