Transcript Continued from Pg. 174 Medicinal Occupation Martha Isabel Rocha "We met with students. When we asked just for a show of hands, two students said they were interested in a B.S. out of a class of 100. About eight said they weren't sure yet. All the rest said they were already decided the Pharm-D was for them," Lemke said. Davis Wallis, a fourth-year pharmacy student, said he could see the benefits of the Pharm-D degree. "If the Pharm-D degree hadn't been offered at UH, I would have taken a post- baccalaureate Pharm-D (elsewhere). But those are harder to get into right now," Wallis said, adding that he had been quoted tuition prices of $20,000 a year. "You have to cut back on your work at some point when going back to finish up that degree, so you have to take six months to a year off and no pay. Once you're out, you aren't used to not getting paid," Wallis said.
