COUGAR BASEBALL TEAM SHOWS PROMISE A rapidly-developing Cougar nine had played four games when The Houstonian went to press. Although their record was not sensational the UH baseball team was curing its weaknesses as fast as they became apparent and gave promise of being a team to watch. The Red and White nine played Texas A. &. M. in College Station in their first tilt. The Aggies, favored to take Southwest Conference honors, beat the Cougars, 7-4. A. &. M. then came here and beat the Cougars on home grounds, 8-4. Recovering from these defeats, the Cougars bounced back to beat St. Thomas U., 7-3 here and then lost to Stephen F. Austin, 7-8. Felix Fraga tips a foul ball against the Aggies here. A. & M. won the game, 8-4. 323
