Transcript MAURICE ELLIOTT End Shannon plunges through for the second Cougar TD. COUGARS RALLY TO TRIM TRINITY, 28-21 HOUSTON, Nov. 19—Trinity University roared away to an early 21-0 lead here today, but the not-to-be-denied Cougars roared back even stronger, and beat the Tigers 28-21. It was the Red and White team's final home game of the 1949 season, and the gave their fans a great exhibition of second- half spirit. The Cougars could apparently do nothing right in the first half. The UH tackling was dull and unenthusiastic, as was its blocking and running. The only bright spot for the Cougars came after 14 minutes had elapsed in the second quarter, when Jim "Country" Clark passed to Max Clark, who legged it 40 yards for a score. Coach Clyde Lee's halftime talk must have been strong, for the fired- up Cougars completely dominated the second half. Crisp blocking and sharp speed in running, combined with the bone-rattling tackling of the Cougar defense, left little doubt in UH partisans' minds that this was their game. Gene Shannon accounted for the three UH touchdowns in the second half. Alan Neveux perked up to his previous fine form, and master-minded the UH split T attack in this overwhelming display of power. Neveux added four more extra points to his lengthening string. Trinity's Tiger looks sad. 308 ZANE GREGORY Tackle JIM HUMBLE Guard
