Transcript President JACK VAFEN1 JOHNNY r.OYFN Sponsor L. S. MITCHELL The Student Association The president and secretary of the Student Association were elected by the student body at large to act with committees from the councils and assemblies from both the day and night classes to unify and coordinate the activities of these governing bodies. Both are now in military service. The Student Council The Student Council, University senior governing body, was divided for the first time this year into day and night groups. Each consists of five student association members and seven class officers. The president, vice-president, and secretary of the Student Association, who are elected by both night and day student groups, hold the same respective offices in the council. Members of the Day Student Council are elected by day students; members ol the Night Student Council are elected by night students. Activities of the councils for this year include: class-to-class sale of war stamps every Mod day and Tuesday throughout the year; Sponsorship of weekly tea dances; support of the Cougar in the sale of stamps and bonds during the Bond Queen Contests; passage of a bill permitting students to play bridge in the lounge; and passage of a bill changing the grade average requirement for reception representatives, beauties and holders of other such honors from a B to a C.
