A party for the new freshmen was the first on the social calendar of Hillel, the University's Jewish students' organization. Religious services are held every Friday as well as on every religious holiday. During the week the students gather for dinner. At this time the meal precedes a program presented by an outside speaker or an evening of enjoying recreational facilities such as television, piano, and ping-pong. Parties and studying together all help to create a busy year, full of religious, educational, and social activities for the members of Hillel. 220
