Transcript Chi Delta Fraternity was founded at the University of Houston on October 31,1982. It is, and was, the University's only local. Its founders believed that drug use and hazing do not have to be a part of fraternities. One of the ways they intend to accomplish the latter goal is the abolishment of the pledge system. Chi Delta has no intention of putting a brother in an inferior position. The first President of Chi Delta, elected unanimouy by the original five founders, was Mark Roth. James Bradley has been elected to serve as 1983-84 President. Chi Delta's reigning Sweetheart is Miss Julianna Huebner of Phi Mu. The brothers of Chi Delta feel that in many organizations friendship is an acquired extra. In Chi Delta no man joins without first acquiring friendship. If we have no undergraduate members we would prefer to fold rather than bring someone in whom we did not know. We invite you, the University student, to come and get acquainted with Chi Delta.
