Dances, sponsored by campus organizations, are about as close to those you'll reluctantly recall from high school days. The girls are all wearing their Sunday or New Wave best and the guys, well, they are still leaning against the walls clutching their beers, nervously eyeing everyone. After a few beers for the men and for the ladies — anything frozen with a maraschino cherry — the night begins. The music is loud which makes up for .the selection. Small clusters of girls break up as the slightly intoxicated males begin to prowl. Everybody starts movin' and groovin' to the be-bop. After a few hot numbers, the lights are lowered as partners grope to "Endless Love." For the unattached singles, it's chip and dip time. By 12:30 things are breaking up while the sole survivors are supporting the wall or dancing off dinner's macaroni and cheese. Looking around, it's not so bad as Donna Summer's disco love song "Last Dance" sends the party out the entrance door. After all where else could you go on a Friday night with two dollars in your pocket and no — Johnnie Fritz Dave Horn
