Transcript MISSOURI VALLEY CONFERENCE WINNERS For the second year, the Cougar Track Team smothered opposition in the 49th annual Missouri Valley Conference Track Meet held in Denton, May 9. Winning with an eighteen man team, the Cougars ran up a total of 77 points to second place North Texas State's 49. Individual high point man was the Cougars' Andy Anderson with 2nd place in the 100 and 220 yard dashes, 3rd place in the broad jump, and ran legs in both the 440 and mile relay. Bobby Weise hurled the discus 168 ft. 8 inches for a new Missouri Valley record. With teammates finishing second and third, Charles Gary placed 1st in the 100 and 220- yard dashes. Senior Jack Smyth won the MVC broad- jump crown with a 23 foot 3 3/4 inch leap. John Macy ran up times of 4:23.7 and 9:29.5 to place first in the mile and two mile run. Mile Relay team, top to bottom: Dan Frey, Ian Goldfoot, Stan Levenson, Andy Anderson, Jack Smyth, and Norman Jehle. Time: 3:22.2. The 440-yard Relay team includes Charles Gary, Norman Jehle, Andy Anderson, Jack Parring- ton, and Stan Levenson. 170
