the Student Publications Department and printed by Taylor Publishing Company of Dallas, Texas.
Flo Walton was our Account Administrator and Randy Elliot
served as our local Taylor representative.
The cover was red #61 with
handtooled grain. The design was
embossed top mylar stamped. The
cover was designed by Jonathan
Imperial and Kristyn Roberts with
the assistance of Taylor artist
Doroles Landin. The body of the
book was produced on 80 pound
matte paper and trimmed to the
book size of 9 x 12. Twenty-eight
pages of the book were put in
spotcolor. Approximately 1452
photographs were featured in the
book. All body copy was set in
11/13 Seville, except dividers. The
folios were 12 point chancery.
DIVIDERS headlines were set in
48 point English Script. Body copy
was set in 18/30 Chancery.
STUDENT LIFE headlines were
generated on the Macintosh computer. Spotcolor used was red #30
and green #22.
ACADEMICS headlines were set in 48
point Geneva and 48 point Times Roman.
The 520 individual portraits were taken
during the fall and spring semesters by
RESIDENCE HALLS headlines were generated on the Macintosh computer. Subheads were 24 Hanover. Floor identification
was never returned from some RA's; therefore, a list of residents names on the floor
were randomly inserted.
ORGANIZATIONS headlines were set in
48 point Geneva Condensed Bold and 36
point Muse Script. Screens used were 40 and
20 percent black. Some organizations did
not return identification; therefore, no
identification was used.
GREEKS headlines were set in 60 point
Aldostyle Bold Extended, 36 point Avant
Guarde, and 72 point Jefferson Script.
Spotcolor used was green #22, salmon #27,
green #21, process blue #9, brilliant yellow
#51 and sapphire #13. All spotcolor pages
were purchased by the Greeks featured.
SPORTS headlines were set in 48 point
Korinna. Subheads were set in 18/20 Korin-
na Italic. Scoreboxes were created on the
Macintosh computer and designed by Mary
INDEX was generated on the Taylor's In-
dexVision. Advertisements were solicted
by Anthony Advertising of Atlanta,
Since 1974, the Houstonian has not
been supported by Student Services Fees.
Printing and production costs are paid
for by book sales and advertising.
The 1991 Houstonian Yearbook was
produced without faculty supervision, by
a senior staff of 5 people. Volume 57 was
a 400-page publication had a press run of
1,500 copies and sold at $25 a copy. The
Houstonian was a member of the Associated Collegiate Press and The Columbia Scholastic Press Association. The
1990 Houstonian received an All-
American rating from ACP. Address any
