Transcript HOUSTONIAN Kristyn Roberts Editor Editor-Elect 1991-92 As I look back on a year full of downfalls — the disappearance of the former editor-in-chief, and the loss and desertion of many editors — ,1 truly know the meaning of "it's lonely at the top." But there were those who helped me and I would like to thank them. Thao-All of your extra hard work and dedication is appreciated. And you are the only one I know who is 21-years-old and makes a pouty face. Donatello -I thank you for all of the incredible pictures you have in the book. And you will be the world's greatest photo editor. Prebble - Thanks for staying to the end, even though we had photos problems, you did not give up. Mike and Tim -I wish you both the best of luck, and you both did a great job, even though I had to finish both of your sections Kyle-Thanks for taking all the academic pictures, and I know you hated every minute of it. Steve-You saved my life with both Greek and Sports. I thank you. And to everyone who encouraged me and told me I was doing a great job. Your encouragement will not be forgotten. I still think I am crazy for coming back next year, but how could I turn down another year of constant stress. r 4**M Thao Vuong Residence Haiis <§£ Organizations Editor The world may be filled with many cosmic beginnings and endings, but as far as yearbook production was concerned, an ending was yet to be found. In our daily dose of life we learn to except the good with the bad. There were many times when I wanted to kill the editor because of her nagging, "We have deadlines!" I also found a friend in her, which will hopefully survive through our production of another book. My frustration with the invisible photo editor taught me a skill I never knew I had, printing pictures. Although the nights were long and the year never seemed to end, my experience on staff has opened my eyes to the many facets of the university. Pre66(e McLaughlin Student Lift Editor V\/ell, we've made it — AND came out on top. Despite some "shtewpid" mistakes and several staff changes, I know we have put together one hell of a book that all of us are proud of that we thought would never be completed. Our hard work, determination and dedication to produce a quality book enabled us to overcome any problems that surfaced. Through hectic deadlines, foul language and moments of psychosis, together we proved that it truly is not quantity, but quality. he Three Amigos-Kyle Saenz, Steve Harvey and Donatello Pilts.Photo by Manuel Esparza. Donatttto Pius Head Photographer The first two months of the 1991 academic year were more exciting and more entense than the entire year of 1990. Fortunately, I had the aid of my Canon to help me capture on film-the numerous war-related activities that began to reshape the attitudes of many Americans, including myself. I proudly salute all those men and women who served in the Persian Gulf War and honor those who did not return or returned physically changed. 1991 in retrospect, I am still "proud to be an American," yesterday, today and tomorrow. 398 Epilogue
