Transcript Big Plans Lytle Seibert had big plans for handicapped students on campus. Seibert was the new director for the handicapped in- tramurals program and he wanted as many people as can contribute to the program in the ways of ideas and participation. Since beginnning his job, Seibert worked on developing a schedule of activities satisfied all the estimated 200 handicapped students on campus. The first event was a water orientation program, which was held at the indoor pool. "We hope to give the disabled an overview of aquatics and show them some exercises that can be beneficial to rehabilitation," Intramurals Director Jim Sheffield said. "The day will be especially useful for those who have not been in the water for a long time or maybe not at all." Seibert hoped the aquatics program would help people become more involved with the intramural program. "It's certainly a start," he said, " and although we haven't got a lot of feedback on the program, yet, the water program would be a good chance for people to share ideas." (continued) During the aquatics program, Myra Shoemake enjoyed swimming laps and, of course, the water. Photo courtesy Lytle Seibert. During an intense tennis match both teams put their best effort forward to defeat their opponent. Photo courtesy Lytle Seibert.
