The organization was founded on the University of Houston Campus in 1980, and has grown in number and strength. Good News Gospel Choir was a tremendous influence to students, faculty, and members of the community. The group's name was derived from the organizations effort to spread the word of God, which is indeed "good news . These efforts continued as the choir followed and held true to its intended Christian goals. This year Good News members have been recognized on a national level as National President and Mr. and Miss BSU finalists at the National Baptist Student Retreat. Good News attributed their success to the dedication of each member and God, who makes all things possible.-Julianne Robbins. t y imberly Jacques listens as another member gives t/~\ osalyn Forch and Claudia Knowles share a bible kf spiritual guidance.
