Transcript Reaching Out Ik It's DilteAScty To Help The Needy The Catholic Newman Students Association (CNSA) was extremely diverse in its membership with the uniting factor being their faith. A sister organization, the Vietnamese Catholic Students Organization, lended an ethnic diversity to the Newman Center. CNSA conducted a global horizons program which helped represent the different cultures in the organization. The various topics that were discussed included Liem Dau and his experiences as a Vietnamese - American. A speaker from La Casa Juan Diego, a Central American refugee center expounded on the culture and discussed the plight of the people of Guatemala. CNSA also reached outside in many ways. For Christmas, the organization adopted two families to feed for the holiday season. From Thanksgiving through finals, CNSA collected food for needy families. In addition to the food, there were presents for each member of the families. Another project organized during Easter also generated tremendous support from the community, donations were made in the form of food and money which went towards the payment of utilities for "our families." -Courtesy of CNSA 206 4- <*— W [ary Comeaux and Joey Lockwood enjoy themselves during a spring retreat in Galveston.
