Transcript Special Box Becomes Special <Hos>$>k 2fo/i NMS Students As priority registration ^ kame to a close, 130 National Merit students found they had no classes because their registration forms had been misplaced, Honors Program officials said, Honors Program members have priority over other students in the registration process. National Merit students, who are members of the the Honors Program, turn their registration forms into a special box in the program where they are processed. Apparently, one such box could not be found when it came time to register the students for classes, William Monroe, associate director of the Honors Program, said. Because the registration forms were found after priority registration was over, many students did not get all of the classes they had originally signed up for, he said. "We basically just try to work both ends; with the student and also with the teaching faculty to try and work it out so that everybody gets as close as possible to what they want," Monroe said. Students already enrolled in classes were not bumped to make room for the National Merit students who did not get the classes they requested," he said. Monroe said students with National Merit Scholarships have to be put in a separate box and registered separately because of the type of scholarships they have. -Kese Smith HONORS FILM SOCIETY.
