Out Of The Streets And into The Dnrms
What would it be like to see men
running around in womens dresses?
Ask Tower and Quad resident's
who caught a sight of this spectacle
during the residence halls Forbidden Party.
Originally named the Pimp and
Whore party. This party caused
much heated controversy last year
after several groups voiced concerns
over it's tastefulness and offensive-
ness to women.
"The party took place smoothly
this year, we didn't receive any criticism from the surrounding area,
because it was named the Forbidden
Party" said Erin Collins, Resident
The lounge area between North
and South tower was transformed
with emerald green, gold and purple decorations to resemble Bourbon Street. The theme centered
around Mardi Gras atmosphere.
Students came in fishnet stockings, garter belts, halter tops and
dresses. Mardi Gras masks, beads
and noise makers were given away
to students as an incentive to help
them get into the Mardi Gras spirit.
"We had a great turnout and the
party was for the enjoyment of the
students" said Colins. -Thao Vuong
