Transcript ^put tHk Learning To Cope With The Stranger Next Door Moving far from home could be a very traumatic and nerve wracking experience for anyone, who was not used to living with other people. College was a change, but living with other people was an experience in itself. "I'm lucky I ended up with someone I got along with," said Debbi Martin, "Living in the dorms was a real learning experience for me. Fortunately, it was an overall pleasant experience since I did not have to face any major problems with my roommate or suitemates. If something came up we just simply talked about it and worked it out." Loud music and rowdy talk sessions were just a few inconveniences that occurred daily in residence halls life. Tolerance and compromise were the key elements needed to make it a pleasant experience. Living in the residence halls was like having a home away from home. There was always someone to turn to if you needed anything. You learned patience because you where constantly around many other people. But in the end, you learned from it and enjoyed it. -Jennifer Horton WON'T YOU BE MY NEIGHBORPQuad residents show their floor unity by displaying their loser symbol. Photo by Mark Lacy.
