Transcript Houston Nightlife \l\lhat do college students do at night, when they take a breather from studying for exams or writing term papers? That all depends on their age, taste in music and sense of humor of the generation. The students found many things to enjoy on the weekend. They could go clubbing, to the movies, out to eat or simply just a walk around the Galleria. With Houston being such a big metro- politian city, many of the great bands come to the Summit. Students stood in line for tickets to their favorite bands. Clubbing was a popular thing to do at night. There were a variety of clubs from jazz to top 40. Some of the clubs were 18 and older, while some of the others remained 21 and up. Avalon, a popular club for 21 and older, started admitting 18-year- olds on Sundays. This became exciting for younger students because they had heard so much about it. The Yucotan Liquor Stand, however, initiated the 21 and older everyday. The security guards card IMP What do college students do at night, when they take a breather from studying for exams or writing term papers? ££ everyone for ID at the door, so if you are under 21, they are worth waiting for. Other noteworthy spots are The Volcano, Emo's, Lola's, and Crown and Serpent, all popular bars. Hooters and Bayou Mama's are also well-known spots for a guaranteed fun time. There are also many Country Western places around such as In Cahoots and Wild West. Now in the arena of entertainment, the Spellbinder's Club had great magician and comedy acts. It is limited to 21 and over. The Laff Stop also had great comedy for 18 and over. This club frequently posts coupons in the Daily Cougar for two-for-one admission coupons. Houston definitely had more to do than anyone could imagine. So next time you are out and about try something new. Don't go someplace you have already been.
