Transcript H Sisterhood /eta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded in 1920, at Howard University in Washington, D.C. The sorority has thus far grown into an organization of young women who follow the ideas of Finer Womanhood, Scholarship, Community Service and Sisterly Love. The Phi Epsilon Chapter at the University of Houston was chartered in 1975. The Phi Epsilon women were active around campus and in the community. Community service projects ranged from Shoe Drives for the Star of Hope Mission, to Baby Showers for The Storks Nest. Zeta Phi Beta launched an entire national project entitled "The Black Male Crisis", throughout the nation in hopes of reaching out to the African-American male. As African-American women who love African-American men, Zeta Phi Beta knows that there are a great number of men who have leadership abilities and can be a great asset to the community. In accordance with this program the chapter held it's second anual "Mr. Black Male Positive Image Pageant." The purpose of the event was to celebrate young African- American men in our Members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. community who are being positive role models for younger African- Americans. The young men participating in this program are students at UH; they have demonstrated either outstanding academics, moral character or community consciousness. The list of community service projects and activities are extensive. Zeta Phi Beta is always recognizing the needs of the community and then finding ways of fulfilling those needs. -Courtesy of Zeta Phi Beta. PROJECTING THEIR SYMBOL...
