Transcript SOCIAL OFFICERS—FRONT ROW: Dru Lodge, Ted Trigg, Shirley Saner. BACK ROW: Pete Pallans, Doug Malek. Rodeo Association The Rodeo Association sponsored the first University of Houston trail ride, UH Western Week and the UH Rodeo this year. The Association is organized primarily for these purposes and for other social functions taking place throughout the year. During Rodeo, events started with a kick-off dance and culminated with an awards program during which the official UH Rodeo Queen was presented. Included in the week-long western fete was a pony express rider who rode to Houston City Hall carrying a proclamation declaring UH Western Week. The proclamation was presented to Mayor Welch. The official rodeo arena is renewed each year by lumber donated by rodeo supporters in the UH area. FORWARD: Ted Trigg.
