Kappa Epsilon Pre-Pharmacy Society Encouragement of high school women interested in a pharmacy career was one of the major projects of Kappa Epsilon, national fraternity for women in pharmacy, this year. The members of Kappa Epsilon not only emphasized the need for women in pharmacy, but also the excellence of the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. Get-acquainted parties for new girls served as a stimulus for the lasting bond of loyalty, interest, and friendship found among the members of KE. Other purposes of the organization are to unite the women students of pharmacy and to cooperate with the faculty of the college. A tour of the newly-finished Lamar Fleming Chemistry-Pharmacy Building acquainted the pre-pharmacy students with what is to be primarily their building and facilities. Pre-Pharmacy Society is an organization for students who have not yet entered pharmacy school. The purpose of this organization is to make the students feel closer to what they will be dealing with in the future and to install in them a professional attitude. Aside from professional observations, a pre-finals picnic in April proved to be relaxing for the students in the Pre-Pharmacy Society.
