Student Optometric Association The purpose of the Student Optometric Association is to install ethical optometric standards and to promote professionalism. It was successfully carried out this year by the presentation of such speakers as Dr. Judd Chapman, President of the American Optometric Association. The Student Optometric Association is also a social outlet of students in the optometric department. A smoker held at the beginning of the year gave the freshmen a chance to get acquainted with other students.- Easter and Christmas baskets were collected by SOA for needy families in Houston.
