Some of you may little Nintendo — the family version of Wheel of faithfully watch the show every night. I have watched Fortune. If it were only the real show, I would be on it for years myself, playing along and saying to myself my way to Paris and the Caribbean! I stop playing just that if I was on the show, I'd be sure to win. About a week ago, my thinking of the show completely changed. 11:49 a.m., Wednesday Feb. 7 — I am sitting in The Daily Cougar offices when someone starts talking about the auditions. So I call the number and in time to watch another show. 7:32 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 10 — After hitting the snooze button several times on my alarm clock, I finally roll out of bed. 8:26 a.m. — After showering, dressing and applying warpaint (makeup), I'm finally ready for leave my message of name, phone number and the some breakfast. (It took me that long just to wear a T- best time to reach me. I figure, why not? What have I shirt and jeans. I excitedly begin calling friends and find out that several of them made it as well. 6:29 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8 — I make sure I am in front of the TV to watch Wheel of Fortune. After all, practice makes perfect. 5:07 p.m., Friday, Feb. 9 — I decide to play a Gary O'Brien, head contestant coordinator from Wheel of Fortune, prepares the wheel for the auditions held at Houston's Adam's Mark Hotel Feb. 10. After eating and receiving a good- luck card from my 11-year-old sister Deanna, I'm finally out the door. The butterflies are already active in my stomach. 9:21 a.m. — I arrive at the Adam's Mark Hotel. My audition isn't until 11 a.m., but I came early to get some background information for this very article. I notice a crowd of people already waiting. After they are informed it is audition by appointment only, they reluctantly leave. I talk to Gary O'Brien, the head contestant coordinator for the show.
