The Beauty Homecoming Bowl was organized by does not conjure the Residence Halls and up the same images as pitted the two main hall high school Homecoming does. Students do not adorn themselves with huge mums, decorated with everything from bells to ribbons to little footballs. For the final Homecoming of the Southwest Conference at the University of Houston, some festivities of farewell were needed. The traditional Homecoming events at UH: sections, the Quadrangle and Moody Towers, against each other. The teams called themselves the Quad Cocktails and the Towers Powers. The Quad Cocktails beat the Towers Powers by a slim margin. The traditional "Yell-Like-Hell" was held in the Frontier Fiesta Field across from Entrance 19 on Calhoun. Particpants included: football head Wednesday, Nov. coach Kim Helton, the 8,1995, was the Cougar football players, the Kick Off at the Satellite. Cougar Band, the cheer- Another Homecoming event that day was the Comedy Show. Red Johnny and the Round Guy performed for students in the Houston Room in the UC. Several student comme- dians opened for them. On Nov. 9, 1995, one of UH's oldest traditions, the BBQ and Beauty Bowl at leaders, the Cougar Dolls, and various Greek organizations. During "Yell Like Hell," participants produce a skit exhibiting school spirit and try to out-yell and out-do one another. The Bonfire was held after "Yell-Like- Hell," and participants Their Royal Highnesses, Queen Cheyenna Smith and King Derrick Mitchell we crowned during half-time in the last Homecoming game of the Southwest Conferee lnSthe ™™P™ and winn.ng more than the tiara. The winners of the crowns this year were: Cheyenna Smith and Derrick Mitchell. The festivities certainly were not over when the game was over. The 13th Annual Homecoming Golf Tournament was held on Nov. 13. Several new events were introduced sored the All Cougar, this year: Super Pre-game Tailgate Party on Saturday; the first 200 students with a valid UH ID received a free barbecue sandwich.
