Transcript Phil Baker Jack Cockerham SIGMA ALPHA CHI Established by twelve charter members in 1945, Sigma Alpha Chi fraternity was originally called the "Student Action Committee." Of primary importance in establishing a democratic order was that neither religious belief nor financial status was to be considered as qualification for membership. Fall rush parties begin the activities for the school year and included in the fraternity calendar ar"e an annual bid dance, to which all fraternal organizations are invited; participation in Homecoming bonfire building and parade; and an open house for parents of the members. Frontier Fiesta and the annual "Sweetheart Ball" are the main events of the Spring semester. In Fiesta the Crow's Nest, built by the members of the group, is one of the largest and most highly rated shows on the midway. Held in April this year, the "Sweetheart Ball" was a gala affair at which the sweetheart of the fraternity was presented.
