Chartered in June, 1949, it was formerly known as Alpha Delta Omega. It has been active on the campus since 1945. The purpose of Alpha Gamma Chi is to assemble college women in the spirit of service and to promote fellowship and scholarship. In the past year, the activities of the group have included maintenance of the permanent record file of the student activities, serving on the election polls, hostess duty at Freshman Orientation, and registering members at the Texas Youth Conference. They also collected for the polio fund and the freedom scroll, counted money for the community chest, helped in the Homecoming and Frontier Fiesta parades, and participated in Fiesta work.
