Transcript the cougar The Cougar, the campus newspaper, was again the students' weekly guide to daily campus life. Edited, written, and published by students of the Sdgtii of Journalism and Graphic Arts, the Cougar faithfully recorded the "ups" and "downs" of University*U_iyit\. Many non-journalism students worked on the paper that has maintained for years that it is the students' publication and if any student is qualified he should be contributing to its support. Progress strode across the pages of the Cougar during this school year. The heavy imprint of the University's first Ail-American, J. 1). Kimmel. was translated into printed form on the pages of the Cougar. The University's greatest year in sports is recorded and bound for future generations. Television's impact on the campus was terrific. jWhcn the University put into operation the nation's first education TV station, the Cougar was ready. The largest "Cougar in history, the television edition, covered virtually every angle of this innovation. The Cougar continued its traditional role of the campus reporter; however, editorials, special features, columns, and symposiums gave adequate attention to national and international affairs. The stories have been written and the used type discarded, but the years to come remain a challenge to future Cougar staffs.
