Transcript gan bey OFFICERS Fall Spring HOLLIS PRICE President HOLLIS PRICE BILL DIERKER Vice President and Treasurer SAMMY LISTI J. C. OLD Secretary JIM KLIPPLE The top Fiesta show in 1953. Again Gan Bey leads the way in winning prizes at the Fiesta. Bella Union is symbolic of the year-round work on campus activities in which the fraternity participates. Gan Bey's social life reached the peak at the sixth annual Anniversary Formal at the Houston Country Club. Six sweetheart candidates were presented and Miss Jeanette Long was selected as the Gan Bey Sweetheart of 1953. Another distinction still held by Gan Bey is the reign of its candidate as the University's Ugliest Man. A Halloween party, the annual Christmas party, and a dinner-dance for the new members highlighted other social events. Fourteen charter members founded Gan Bey in 1947, to promote school spirit, enrich University life, and stimulate more varied interests among students. Gan Bey holds a special commendation for help rendered during the year to the Cougar and Houstonian and promotion of the most ticket sales to Varsity Varieties.
