Assemblyman I George Bohot Darwin Bowman The University chapter of Kappa Alpha Mu holds the award from the national fraternity as the most active chapter in the nation. Its Vice President, Wyn Wardell, was elected President of the national organization. The photographic files of Frontier Fiesta are maintained by the fraternity. Pictures for the Cougar and Houstonian are taken and processed by the organization. A fifty dollar photography award for the outstanding news picture is sponsored by the fraternity along with an annual spring banquet. Kappa Alpha Mu is dedicated to raising the standards of photo-journalism and promoting recognition of the news photographer. Eighteen charter members founded KAM in 1949.
