Participation in the Houston Fat Stock Show. This year found the Stock and Stolon Club engaged in virtually every local agricultural program, on and off the campus. Chosen as one of the top active organizations at the University, the club also found time for a complete series of social functions. Dances, hayrides, beach parties, wiener roasts and numerous Bar-B-Qs were a few of the organization's activities. Stock and Stolon participated in Frontier Fiesta, Homecoming, Outlaw Drive and Career Day. It assisted the Agriculture Department in the Pasture and Rabbit Conference. Organized in 1949, the club is sponsored by the Agriculture Department, Houston Chamber of Commerce, and the Houston Farm and Ranch Club. It promotes fraternal association and gulf coast agriculture.
