Transcript Engineering Societies Slate Educational Functions UHSE ... The University of Houston Society of Engineers seeks to bring together all engineering students for technical and social betterment. They take part in Frontier Fiesta and Homecoming, and hold several barbeques and award dinners during the year. The society is open to all engineering students presently enrolled in the University. The officers are Bob Kelly, president; Clyde Johnstone, vice president; Weldon Mayse, secretary; Jeff Hooks, treasurer; Frank Weeden, Chief Engineer; Bill Reich, Bruce Richards, Jerald Price, and Marcus Owings, Board members. Electrical engineering officers are Don Albertson, president; Bob Theodore, vice president; George Fridel, secretary; Ben Alley, treasurer; and T. N. Whitaker, W. T. Kittinger, and W. L. Anderson, sponsors. UHSEE ... The University's Society of Electrical Engineers, a joint student branch of the Institute of Radio Engineers and the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, began its active program by taking field trips to various engineering companies and inviting outstanding Houston speakers to their bi-monthly meetings. The electrical engineers worked on the wiring and electrical equipment for the "Plugged Nickel." 144
