Transcript A journalist never passes up a free meal! Farris Block, SPJ faculty advisor, feeds starving student members at a cookout in his backyard. Sigma Delta Chi by John Anderson, president The Society of Professional Journalists, Sigma Delta Chi, is a voluntary non-profit association of journalists dedicated to the highest ideals of the profession. The University of Houston Undergraduate Chapter is one of more than 240 professional and campus chapters in the nation. Frequent meetings provide a continuing forum for discussion of professional problems and practices. Speakers offer timely views of the press and related topics. Sigma Delta Chi is the leading advocate of freedom-of- information campaigns in all levels of government. UH students work closely with the Texas Gulf Coast Professional Chapter to maintain standards in communication.
