Transcript Greeks by Jayo Washington editor inglish had pubs where men went to talk politics, shoot darts and drink. It was a small haven away from the maddening crowds. A place to meet old friends and find new people. A place to en|oy the relaxed atmosphere of friendly people having a good time. So with 30.000 full time students and only a handfull on campus longer than their classes, the Greeks set out to change things for the better by offering Friday afternoon beer-busts, carnivals, homecoming dances, tug-of-wars, bus trips, serenades, and even much more important, an opportunity to enjoy life to its fullest. Also offering a chance to help the community, the Greeks put service to humanity high on their priority list. Collecting for the March of Dimes, serenading homes for the aged, and contributing to a campus-wide blood drive only cover a few projects the Greeks actively participate in. 244
