Transcript mack h. hannah jr. Appointed to the Board of Regents in October 197 I by Governor Preston Smith, Hannah is a Houston investor and chairman of the board of Standard Savings. A graduate of Bishop College in Marshall, he also served on the Texas Southern University board for I 2 years and was chairman for 10 of those years. Hannah is presently on the National Board of Evangelism for the United Methodist Church and has been Texas chairman of fund-raising for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Legal Defense Fund. travis c. Johnson A graduate of Texas A&M University, Johnson received his law degree from the University of Houston. Appointed by Governor Preston Smith to the Board of Regents in 1969, Johnson is also a member of the Governor's Committee of 500, chairman of the Area Council for Public Information, member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Council for Higher Education, a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Law Enforcement Foundation, and member of the Board of Directors of the El Paso County Mental Health Association. A former County Judge and First Assistant County Attorney for El Paso County, Johnson is presently practicing Law in El Paso. 243
