Transcript COUGAR "B" TEAM Coach Alden Pasche will lose his two all-conference basketballers, Guy Lewis and Willie Wells, via the graduation route, but his roster will be replenished with a group of men who went through an entire season with an unbelievable record of 17 victories against no defeats. The Cougar "Kittens," coached by Jewell Wallace, took on all opposition that ranged from Southwest Conference "B" teams to shoe store sponsored fives. The "Kittens'' did most of their real playing in the second half, especially after the opposition had racked up a 10 or 15 point lead at the half. More than once the B team boys showed that last minute drive that spelled victory. Their best and most exciting game came when they were host to Texas A. & M.'s B" squad. The Aggies had a 16 to 5 advantage at the quarter and at the half were ahead in a onesided tilt by a 58 to 25 count. The second half opened with a burst of hustle on the part of "Kittens" and the third quarter saw the score end with the Aggies hanging on to a very shaky 44 to 40 lead. The final quarter was the deciding factor for the University youngsters and their speed and the underhanded Guy Lewis shots of Dick Berg, who scored 25 points in the affair, was too much for the little Aggies. The Cougars took a very thrilling 64 to 54 game. U. OF H. "KITTENS" Standing: Jerald Arnold. W Martin. Fddie Faust, Carl Shriever and Dempsey Gatlin Sitting: Dick Haynes, Connie Pontiles.
