Transcript HOUSTONIAN CALENDAR September 15—Registration began—Did you ever see so many lost souls? September 19—Registration of classes—Some of those Freshies were really comical. September 20—Classes began—These people began to realize that collitch ain't what it's cracked up to be. September 29—Sophomores entertained Freshmen. Eleanor Moursund led the "good sportsmen." Oh, yeah. October 2—Freshman class chose Elmer Faught as president—Bud Steeger elected Sophomore class president. October 4—Red Coulson named president of the Students' Association and immediately began setting them on fire with that hair. October 10—Bill allowing Houston School Board to borrow money from Public Works Appropriation to build University passed the House and was expected to pass Senate on the 12th. October 11—Guild Savant made drive for new members—Got Bob Donahue and y2 more (Harry Belk). October 27—Speakers' Club banquet and dance—For further details see the turnkey at City Jail. November 1—John R. Bender Dramatic Club made plans for "Apple Blossom Time"—(Let's have a little cider.) November 5—Oratorical Association, headed by Allen Marshall, began plans for year— (And can that guy debate!) November 10—Day before Armistice celebration—Pacifists rejoiced in the military show of the R.O.T.C, etc. November 27—Presentation of "Apple Blossom Time"—Cast banquet afterward. Harry, Oh! Harry, are you my heeeero? November 29—Double holiday for Thanksgiving—And were we thankful????? December 10—Cougar Collegians sipped tea at home of Mrs. Ebaugh. December 22—Christmas vacation began—Nuff sed—Wotta life. January 1—New Year's Eve—Ouch! My head. January 26—1st semester ended—And we all made all "A's." January 29-2nd semester began-Oh! That registration line. February 5—Reception for new Freshmen—Not so much paint this time.
