Transcript 2 VISION FOR THE FUTURE Inspired by the boundless energy and buoyancy of the spirit of youth coupled with the abiding belief that youth, if educated, will care for the future. Doctor Oberholtzer visualized a great educational system for Houston. The University of Houston rises today to provide and to extend practical training for the youth of the city, from kindergarten through the n»cessary period for thorough training in life pursuits. Such a plan, long a dream but gradually becoming a reality, is today, reaching fruition with the establishment of the University of Houston. Years hence, when this University has thoroughly established itself as a pioneering institution in newly marked fields, founded upon the practical wisdom of one of America's truly inspired educators of this age, this day will be marked as one to be commemorated as "Founders's Day." Rut today, looking into the future with steadfast confidence and courage, we admire and respect our beloved president and therefore We Dedicate This, The First HOUSTONUN, to Doctor E. E.
